Helping Determine Maricopa's Future
Brent Murphree is a vital part of the team that has built
and incorporated the City of Maricopa.   For years the
area had languored in the hands of Pinal County officials
who had no vision for growth and saw Maricopa as the
poor relation in county politics.  Finally, with a growing
population base, Brent and a handful of other citizens
lept at the opportunity to help Maricopa control its own
destiny. The 2003 incorporation of Maricopa took the
town from an overlooked agriculture and transportation
center on the west side of Pinal County to a vital,
municipality which is now being recognized nationally as
a model for municipal growth.

Recognized for his vision, Brent was appointed to serve on
Maricopa's first city council and was named vice-mayor by
his peers.  In 2004, he ran for public election, won and was
once aga
in called to be vice-mayor by his fellow council
members.  Since the beginning he has led the Public Safety
Committee to ensure that the needs of the community are
being met by law enforcement, fire protection, animal control
and other essential services.  Transportation, education,
public safety, and, of course, economic development are
issues that demand attention and Brent brings his
experience
and vision to the table to help in Maricopa's future.
